EarTester is a complimentary application designed to complement EarMan, providing a platform for assessing and enhancing ear training skills at a level aligned with the EarMan curriculum. The application automatically replays intervals following incorrect guesses and presents sounds within a broad range of up to six octaves. Additionally, a replay function is accessible via the toolbar for user convenience. While EarMan considers an 80% score as passing, users are encouraged to pursue higher accuracy for optimal development. The software utilizes high-quality samples consistent with those in EarMan and visually displays intervals in musical notation.

It is important to recognize that ear training abilities are dynamic and subject to improvement over time. Even after completing the EarMan program, periodic self-assessment remains beneficial for identifying areas needing reinforcement or for tracking overall progress. EarTester can be effectively used alongside EarMan to evaluate skill levels or simply maintain ongoing practice routines. Regular short sessions on EarTester can serve as an indicator of current proficiency; if scores approach the 80% threshold, it may warrant revisiting specific training exercises.
